The League Two platform will serve as a critical bridge for top amateur players transitioning from academy and college soccer to senior-level competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cRiverhounds 2 plays an important role in our player development structure, and competing in USL League Two will allow us to take the next step in strengthening that pathway,\u201d Sporting Director&nbsp;<strong>Dan Visser<\/strong>&nbsp;said. \u201cUSL League Two provides meaningful competition for players while aligning closely with our long-term vision for developing players for professional opportunities.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>USL League Two is the top pre-professional league in the United States with more than 140 teams across 37 states, and hundreds of former League Two players have advanced to play professionally in the U.S. and top leagues overseas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Riverhounds 2 will begin play this May competing in the Great Forest Division of League Two\u2019s Central Conference, with the team&#8217;s full schedule to be announced in February.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For more information about Riverhounds 2 and player opportunities, contact\u00a0<strong>Josh Kremers<\/strong>\u00a0at\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:jkremers@riverhounds.com\">jkremers@riverhounds.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC announces that Pittsburgh Riverhounds 2, the club\u2019s men\u2019s Second Team, will compete in USL League Two beginning in the 2026 season.
