Founded in 2021 by Drew McKenna, One Knoxville SC has experienced a rapid transition, growing from an amateur team into a full-time professional soccer club that competes in USL League One \u2013 the third division in the US Soccer professional pyramid. One Knoxville SC\u2019s story began with a vision \u2013 to bring professional soccer to Knoxville, a city with a rich sports culture and an enthusiastic fanbase eager for high-quality soccer. In just three short seasons, One Knox lifted its first silverware, claiming both the Players Shield and the USL League One title in 2025.

At One Knoxville SC, we believe in the power of soccer to unite people, inspire communities, and elevate athletes. From our early days of ambition and dedication to our current status as a professional outfit, we are committed to representing the city of Knoxville and its passionate fans at the highest levels of competition.

The transition to full-time professionalism represents our growth and determination to be a lasting presence in the American soccer landscape. Managing Partner, Drew McKenna, connects with representatives of the United Soccer League (USL) about initial interest in the Knoxville market.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

November, 2020<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Paperwork is exchanged and signed between Lemonade Ventures, LLC and the USL to bring a USL Franchise to Knoxville.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

February, 2021<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Knox Pro Soccer”<\/em> is born. <\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

April, 2021<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

After a tragic incident at Austin-East High School, Knox Pro Soccer provides an avenue for the High School soccer team to celebrate ‘A Special Night’<\/a><\/em>, its senior night, at the University of Tennessee’s Regal Stadium to prevent potential season-ending cancellation.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

From the following options: One Knoxville, Knoxville Rovers, Knoxville Ascent and Knoxville SC.<\/em> Knox Pro Soccer became One Knoxville Sporting Club, on July 15th, 2021.<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

August, 2021<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

On August 19th, 2021, One Knoxville Sporting Club unveiled its crest<\/a> to a sold-out audience at The Mill & Mine.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

January, 2022<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

One Knoxville SC announced its appointment of Mark McKeever<\/a> as the Club’s first head coach in its history, on January 22nd, 2022.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

February, 2022<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

On February 8th, 2022, One Knoxville SC announced its first player signing in the Club’s history – James Thomas.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

March, 2022<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

On March 31st, 2022, One Knoxville SC unveiled its first jersey in Club history. The Mountain Kit was born.<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

May, 2022<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

One Knoxville SC kicked off its first game in Club history at Austin-East High School vs Asheville City in the USL League Two. Max McNulty scored the first goal in Club history.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

October, 2022<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

On October 20th, 2022, One Knoxville SC announced its expansion into the USL League One<\/a> ahead of the 2023 campaign at a full-capacity crowd at The Press Room.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

January, 2022<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

On January 18th, 2023, One Knoxville SC announced its 501(c)3, the One Knox Collective, to house a brand new Youth Club, that kicked off in August 2023, its growing Adult Recreational Program on top of the expansion of Community Events and Programming, Changing Lives Through Soccer. <\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

March, 2023<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

On March 18th, 2023, One Knoxville SC played its first professional game at Regal Stadium vs Lexington SC in the USL League One. The game ended in a 2-1 victory with Jimmie Villalobos scoring the first goal in the Club’s professional history.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

August, 2024<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

One Knoxville SC announced its agreement with Boyd Sports<\/a> to play its home matches in the new Old City Stadium, Downtown Knoxville as of the 2025 USL League One season.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

October, 2024<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

To provide access for all is what the Club strives to do. The construction of the Club’s and City’s first Mini-Pitch<\/a> saw the conversion of a worn down, unusable basketball court in Harriet Tubman Park, East Knoxville, turn into a brand-new multi-use Mini-Pitch. The first of many more to come.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

March, 2025<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

One Knoxville SC Women took the field, at Covenant Health Park, for the very first time in a USL W League fixture vs Asheville City.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>

On August 19th, 2021, One Knox unveiled it’s crest, created by Matthew Wolff, to a sold-out audience at The Mill & Mine. We were focused on branding the club in a way that connects not just with those who love soccer but connects with those who love Knoxville.

To encapsulate all that is Knoxville into a brand required a best-in-class process. So, we combined two best-in-class designers. For unmatched local knowledge we partnered with Knoxville-based Pedal. For world-renowned soccer design, we teamed up with Matthew Wolff.
