Anthem Blue Cross has teamed up with \u00adOakland Roots to spotlight deserving local small businesses. The goal \u2014 improving the lives of the people, businesses, and communities in Oakland.<\/h5>\n\n\n\n
Fans have the opportunity to nominate their favorite small businesses, and we select eight winners to honor throughout each season. Each winner receives a $1,000 donation, a VIP gameday experience for two, social media promotion on Roots\u2019 channels, and gameday recognition.<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

Random acts of kindness \u2014

We can all use a little more kindness in our lives. In fact, kindness in our communities can boost health and well-being for everyone.<\/h5>\n\n\n\n
That\u2019s why Anthem Blue Cross and Oakland Roots launched a Random Acts of Kindness initiative. From supporting teachers and staff at Markham Elementary School<\/a>, to donating Charly soccer cleats to the youth at Soccer Without Borders Oakland<\/a>, to surprising our most loyal Roots fans in the Coliseum stands, we\u2019re helping people and communities throughout Oakland.<\/h5>\n\n\n\n
We\u2019re not stopping there. Look out for Anthem and Roots in your neighborhood for our next Random Act of Kindness.<\/h5>\n\n\n\n
