{"id":454,"date":"2024-06-29T20:32:27","date_gmt":"2024-06-29T20:32:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sportsengine-develop.go-vip.net\/nebraskastatesoccer\/?page_id=454"},"modified":"2025-07-27T22:18:06","modified_gmt":"2025-07-27T22:18:06","slug":"team-formation","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/sportsengine-develop.go-vip.net\/nebraskastatesoccer\/team-formation\/","title":{"rendered":"TEAM FORMATION"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Nebraska State Soccer recognizes the below registration dates for team formation activities.&nbsp;<br><br><\/strong>Registration will open for all players on June 1 of each calendar year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A player is considered committed to an Affiliate member the moment the player (or for a player less than 18 years of age, the player\u2019s parent\/legal guardian or guardian) personally or electronically signs the Affiliate Member\u2019s registration form and submits a portion of, or the full amount of the fees required by the Affiliate Member. If the player qualifies for a scholarship, once they sign the registration and give written acceptance of the scholarship, they are considered registered. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A player may request to be released\/transferred from their current Affiliate member at any time throughout the season. This does not mean that you are released from any financial commitment that you have previously agreed to or entered into freely with an Affiliate Member. Any financial commitment entered into with an Affiliate Member is between the parents and the member. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All players must be registered before they can participate in any sanctioned activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:40px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"seasonal-year-changes-2026-2027\">Seasonal Year Changes 2026\/2027<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-7387b849 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:66.66%\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">US Youth Soccer (USYS), US Club Soccer, and American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO), today announced that they have agreed to adopt the seasonal year age group formation cycle for its players starting with each\u2019s 2026-27 season.The cycle, which will run from August 1 to July 31, represents the opportunity for more players in the each\u2019s system to play club-based soccer with their classmates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The decision stems from a U.S. Soccer Federation policy put in place late in 2024 empowering member organizations to be the decision-maker on the registration choices for leagues and competitions that they sanction and\/or run.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:33.33%\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"faq\">FAQ<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"ghostkit-accordion ghostkit-accordion-2\">\n<div class=\"ghostkit-accordion-item\" data-accordion=\"accordion-how-does-this-affect-my-teams\"><div class=\"ghostkit-accordion-item-heading\"><button type=\"button\" id=\"accordion-how-does-this-affect-my-teams-button\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"accordion-how-does-this-affect-my-teams-content\"><span class=\"ghostkit-accordion-item-label\"><strong>How does this affect my teams?<\/strong><\/span><span class=\"ghostkit-accordion-item-collapse\"><svg class=\"ghostkit-svg-icon\" width=\"24\" height=\"24\" viewBox=\"0 0 24 24\" fill=\"none\" xmlns=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/2000\/svg\"><path d=\"M9.21967 6.2197C9.51256 5.9268 9.98744 5.9268 10.2803 6.2197L15.5303 11.4697C15.8232 11.7626 15.8232 12.2374 15.5303 12.5303L10.2803 17.7803C9.98744 18.0732 9.51256 18.0732 9.21967 17.7803C8.92678 17.4874 8.92678 17.0126 9.21967 16.7197L13.9393 12L9.21967 7.2803C8.92678 6.9874 8.92678 6.5126 9.21967 6.2197Z\" fill=\"currentColor\"><\/path><\/svg><\/span><\/button><\/div><div id=\"accordion-how-does-this-affect-my-teams-content\" class=\"ghostkit-accordion-item-content is-layout-flow wp-block-ghostkit-accordion-item-is-layout-flow\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"accordion-how-does-this-affect-my-teams-button\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Starting in fall 2026 all teams will be formed based on an Aug 1 &#8211; July 31 calendar. In response, US Youth Soccer, US Club and AYSO worked together to decide on a cohesive team formation calendar so that the majority of youth teams in the US are on the same calendar.
