keep it simple&#8230; KEEP IT FUN!<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div><\/details><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-genesis-blocks-gb-accordion gb-slate-accordion gpb-rounded-md gb-block-accordion gb-font-size-20\"><details><summary class=\"gb-accordion-title\"><strong>Placement &amp; Registration of Athletes <\/strong><\/summary><div class=\"gb-accordion-text\">\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Registration procedures should be the same as those used for regular league teams:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Should include a section for medical history. Athletes with Down-syndrome should be required to have a current x-ray. If the x-ray is positive for their safety, it should be strongly recommended that they do not take part in team play, and in some cases medical waivers may be required.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Placement is made by ability not age.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Assessment test should be made available upon request.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ensure that the experience is meaningful for the participating athletes, and one in which they feel they have made a contribution.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div><\/details><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-genesis-blocks-gb-accordion gb-slate-accordion gpb-rounded-md gb-block-accordion gb-font-size-20\"><details><summary class=\"gb-accordion-title\"><strong>Recruiting Coaching<\/strong><\/summary><div class=\"gb-accordion-text\">\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Contact local universities, schools and soccer clubs for volunteers.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The State Coach or Director of Coaching for the state association is also a good source for coaches.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>No special training is required, however it is available&nbsp;through US Youth Soccer and state association sponsored coaching courses as well as&nbsp;through Special Olympics.<br><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div><\/details><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-genesis-blocks-gb-accordion gb-slate-accordion gpb-rounded-md gb-block-accordion gb-font-size-20\"><details><summary class=\"gb-accordion-title\"><strong>Cost Involved <\/strong><\/summary><div class=\"gb-accordion-text\">\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Costs vary depending upon your registration fees and insurance fees, and uniform and equipment costs.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cost should be kept low and affordable to all possible participants.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>There are philanthropic entities, such as the Shriners which offer assistance.
