About the Lexington Sporting Club Women<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

On May 16, 2023, Lexington Sporting Club was announced as one of the inaugural clubs set to compete in the Gainbridge Super League, a new Division I professional women\u2019s soccer league launching in 2024. The announcement marked a historic moment for soccer in Central Kentucky and firmly positioned Lexington at the forefront of the women\u2019s game in the United States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Lexington SC women’s professional team officially launched in the summer of 2024, ushering in a new era for top level women\u2019s sports in Central Kentucky. After years of intentional investment in the women\u2019s game, the club took the field as a fully professional side in the inaugural season of the Gainbridge Super League.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On August 25, 2024, Lexington SC played it’s first professional women\u2019s match in club history, traveling to face Carolina Ascent FC. The match ended in a 1\u20131 draw, marking a milestone moment for the organization and the beginning of Lexington\u2019s journey at the Division I professional level. Just two weeks later, on September 8, 2024, the LSC women returned home for another historic occasion, the club\u2019s first-ever match in its new soccer-specific, Lexington SC Stadium. While the match ended in a 3\u20132 loss against Tampa Bay Sun FC, the significance extended far beyond the final score.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That day marked the first professional match ever played in the stadium, men\u2019s or women\u2019s, making the Lexington SC women the first team to officially take the field in the club\u2019s new home. The moment represented a major step forward for women\u2019s soccer in Kentucky and reflected the club\u2019s commitment to providing equal platforms, facilities, and visibility for the women\u2019s game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today, Lexington SC women are in the midst of their second professional season, continuing to establish themselves as a competitive force within the Gainbridge Super League. At the same time, the league itself is in its second professional campaign, building momentum, expanding its footprint, and strengthening its role as a premier platform for women\u2019s soccer in the United States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With a connected youth-to-pro pathway, world-class facilities, and a growing supporter base, Lexington SC women remain focused on long-term success on and off the field.
